Mardi Gras......not in this house

Remember last week when I took a 'sick' day when I wasn't really sick?
Well, Karma turned around and gave me a reason to stay home and do nothing.
Saturday I went to the kick-off for the new season of Team in Training and was feeling a bit iffy when I got up but I chalked that up to the red wine DH and I had partaken in the night before. I don't do red wine well without some symptoms the next day.
I took a Tylenol, ate breakfast and my friends and I left for the meeting.
Around 12 when the meeting was over I thanked my lucky stars that my friend E. drove us to the meeting because I got so sick.
I made it home, ate and collapsed in bed.
I slept for 3 hours and this was in a noisy house with dogs and kids walking in and out of the bedroom.
Sunday dawned with me feeling better, oddly enough, so I ventured out a little.
Yesterday however I felt really sick. But with what?
I have a sore throat, low grade fever. I sound congested but I'm not.
I'm wicked tired and a bit groggy.
I went to the DR because I thought I had Strep and it came back negative.
Today I slept in and managed to eat yogurt and berries, lunch is soup.

I was raised by a Catholic mother and a Protestant dad so I'm aware of the custom of Mardi Gras.
But with this bug food is not on my priority list.
So no big feasts for me on this day before Lent.

Mom will understand, I hope.

On the knitting front, I am knitting washcloths.
There is so much cotton in my stash right now that I estimated I can knit at least 40 washcloths or more.
They'll be for a fundraiser for my marathon.
At one a day I should make a nice dent in my stash.
